01-Mar 2019: Increased capacity leads to new sales records
In 2018, the Haimer GmbH was able to increase its sales numbers significantly by 18%. An important foundation for further growth is the new, additional production plant in Motzenhofen, which is located only a few kilometers away from the headquarters.
If you want to maintain healthy growth, your production capacity has to match the demand. In 2017, after reaching its production limit at the headquarters in Igenhausen near Augsburg, HAIMER decided to expand to a new production facility in Motzenhofen. The newly acquired 15,000 square meter industrial site initially consisted of a small office building and a warehouse. For the complete soft machining process of the tool holders, a new 4,000 square meter production hall was built. In addition, the large raw material warehouse moved to the new location.
With this new facility, HAIMER can increase its capacity to up to 4,000 tool holders per day. "This will probably make us the largest production plant for rotating tool holders worldwide and also within the high-quality sector 100% made in Germany," explains Managing Director Andreas Haimer. The company is investing in a large number of CNC lathes and milling machines this year. In order to not just shift the bottleneck of production to Motzenhofen, new machines were purchased for the Igenhausen location to help with the grinding process.
The area of shrinking technology is growing particularly strong and as the world market leader, HAIMER can score with patented innovations. The family-owned company is continuing on the road to success with the presetting devices from HAIMER Microset, which are available as semi-automatic and fully automatic. All machines can be connected to the machine tool and thus provide all the necessary tool data. Andreas Haimer is convinced that the digitization process plays a major role for the future of machining. "We have already implemented many projects in order to align our complete product range to this trend," he explained."
Among other items in 2019, the HAIMER Data Analyzer and Controller (DAC) will be fully developed and introduced to the market in order to offer holistic network solutions related to tool and data Management.
Growth drivers for HAIMER are Asia, the United States, Germany and other European markets. The export rate is now over 70 percent and it is continuing to rise. One way that HAIMER is expanding its local presence is by opening another sales and service subsidiary, HAIMER France-Belux SARL, which will shortly commence its operations. With its own office, large showroom and ten sales and services employees, the new subsidiary aims to build an ever closer relationship to the local market. The Haimer Group now employs around 800 people worldwide and more than 500 of them are located in Germany.
